Putted

A GolfNow alternative for courses that want their tee times back

GolfNow is not free — it is paid for in tee times you hand over and it resells at a discount, which for a course giving up four prime times a day is roughly $32,000 a year. Putted is $149 a month in cash, and every tee time stays yours to sell.

A course's own booking page on a phone, showing Saturday's tee times at $58 each with one slot reading “2 left”.

What GolfNow is

GolfNow is a tee time marketplace owned by Golf Channel. Courses list inventory on it and golfers book through it. The tee sheet software is typically provided at no cash cost, and the course pays instead in tee times — bartered inventory that GolfNow resells, usually at a discount to your rack rate.

It is genuinely the largest source of golfer demand in the category, and for a course with times it cannot fill on its own, filling them at a discount beats leaving them empty. That is a real argument and it is why the model persists.

When GolfNow is the better buy

  • You have real unsold inventory and no way to generate demand for it, and a discounted round beats an empty one.
  • You want a marketplace to market your course for you, and you are content to pay for that in rounds.
  • Cash flow is tight enough that no monthly software cost is possible at all, at any price.

When Putted is

  • Your prime times sell out anyway, and you are bartering inventory you could have sold at rack rate.
  • You want golfers to learn your booking page rather than a marketplace, because that habit is the asset.
  • You want a number you can put in a budget instead of a cost that hides inside your tee sheet.
  • You want your name on the confirmation email and your pro shop on the reply.

Questions

Common questions

Is GolfNow free for golf courses?

No. GolfNow costs no cash but is paid for in tee times the course hands over, which GolfNow resells at a discount. Four prime times a day at a $40 rate across a 200-day season is roughly $32,000 a year in revenue the course never sees.

What does it cost to switch from GolfNow to Putted?

$149 a month, or $1,490 prepaid for a year, and no tee times. Setup is free and the first month is free, so the two overlap for as long as you want them to.

Will we lose bookings if we leave a marketplace?

Some, at first, and it is worth being honest about that. What you gain is that every round you do sell is at your own rate on your own page. If you genuinely cannot fill your times without a marketplace, a discounted round beats an empty one and GolfNow is doing real work for you.

Does Putted list our tee times anywhere else?

Never. Your tee times appear on your own booking page and nowhere else. There is no marketplace, no resale and no discounting of your rates.
