Handicaps are the part nobody wants to do by hand
Putted works out each member’s handicap from the league rounds they have actually played, and applies it to the whole round — net is gross minus handicap. Week one is played scratch because there is nothing to compute from yet.
A member’s handicap is always built from the weeks before the one it is applied to. That sounds like a technicality and it is the whole thing: if tonight’s bad round raised tonight’s handicap, it would cancel itself out and nobody would ever move in the standings.
If the pro shop knows somebody is sandbagging, type their handicap in and it wins over the computation. You do not have to change how the league is scored to override one person.
League night takes the tee times without taking them away
Press "hold tee times" and Putted reserves the block your league plays, on every night of the season, taking only spots that were free. A time somebody had already booked is left alone and reported back to you rather than quietly stolen.
Because the tee sheet only runs so far ahead, week nine of a fourteen-week league has nothing to hold on setup day. Press the button again later and it picks up the nights that have appeared since. Deleting a night gives its times back exactly — including the ones you had closed for weather, which stay closed.
Two decisions the league gets to make
Standings can run on an average per night or a cumulative total. They only disagree when members miss weeks, which is every league — on a cumulative total, somebody who has played three of six Tuesdays reads as leading. Average is the default and both boards show how many weeks each member has played.
Partial cards are not counted by default. A six-of-nine card has an artificially low total, and drop weeks throw away a member’s worst nights, so a short card would never be the one discarded — counting it would hand the season to whoever leaves early. Turn it on and the handicap is prorated to the holes played.
The standings cannot be out of date
The season table is computed from the scores every time it is looked at, so correcting one hole in week three fixes the whole season at once. The board the members see and the one the pro shop sees run the same calculation on the same rows — they cannot show two different seasons.

How are league handicaps calculated?

Can the pro shop override a handicap?
Yes. A handicap you type in always wins over the running calculation, so you can correct a sandbagger without changing how the league is scored for everybody else.
